How do I resolve the error message 'Modem is Not Responding'?

If you get an error like this, it means that your computer cannot detect your modem properly.

The first step you should take is to make sure that the modem is connected to your computer properly (if it is an external modem).

Reboot your PC and see if the modem will respond.

If the problem continues, you may need to uninstall and reinstall your modem drivers.

You should refer to your modem/PC manual for assistance with this and if necessary contact the company who provides support for the modem hardware.

If the modem is inside your computer, there is a possibility that the modem is not placed into the motherboard properly.

You should seek professional assistance if you need to check that the modem is inserted properly.
