Can I use a longer line cord for my ADSL equipment?

Using a longer line cord for BT Broadband is not advised. A longer modem/router line cord can often lead to a reduction in the quality of the service, the results of which may include an intermittent (dropping) and/or slow Internet connection. If you do not have a telephone socket near enough to your computer, you should consider one of the following alternatives to an extended telephone cable:

  • Purchase an extended Ethernet cable known as a CAT5E Patch cable. Such cables can be purchased from computer stores and made up to 100m in length.
  • Upgrade to a BT Voyager 2110 wireless router. For additional information click here.
