Will BT Internet Technical Support offer assistance with my VPN connection?

If you are using a VPN for work related activity you will need to contact your work IT support or VPN client vendor for further technical assistance.

Most VPN's require an internet connection with a static IP address. But it is also possible to connect to a VPN over an Internet connection using a dynamic IP address.

BT provides Dynamic IP addresses to all of our home users, this means that your IP address will change whenever you disconnect and reconnect. Please check with your VPN host, if your VPN client can be configured with a dynamic IP address. BT will not be able to provide any VPN specific support as most of the VPN connections are based on 3rd party proprietary protocols.

We provide static IP addresses only to our Business Broadband Customers. There are many advantages to subscribing to our Business Services other than the static IP address facility.

Please check with your VPN host for the IP address requirements for your VPN connection.
