What is BT Business Broadband ADSL?
ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) divides the bandwidth to prioritise the downstream path, facilitating the rapid downloading of audio, video and graphic files. Downloads can reach speeds of up to 2mbps while uploads can reach speeds of up to 256kps. There are two types of ADSL which are:
  • ULMP – Unbundled Local Metallic Path: BT control the full line for the customer and uses full spectrum of the line.
  • Line Sharing - Eircom continues to provide telephone services, while BT delivers high speed data services over the same local loop. Voice and data are separated by means of a splitter.
