Warning! Fraudulent Email Alert for Oceanfree Users

Published 05/04/2006 09:30   |    Updated 15/10/2009 10:43

I received an email advising of an Oceanfree server upgrade, what should I do?

Delete the Email and do NOT respond!

If you recently received emails similar to the those printed below you should delete it without responding or clicking on any website link. If you are ever suspicious of the authenticity of an email never reveal your password or any account details. You should also never open any files attached to suspicious or spam emails.

If you have already responded to this hoax email revealing any account details or installed any patches then you should immediately call BT Ireland Technical Support on 1890 923 111.

On October 16, 2009 server upgrade will take place. Due to this the
system may be offline for approximately half an hour.
The changes will concern security, reliability and performance of mail
service and the system as a whole.
For compatibility of your browsers and mail clients with upgraded server
software you should run SSl certificates update procedure.
This procedure is quite simple. All you have to do is just to click the
link provided, to save the patch file and then to run it from your
computer location. That's all.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and sorry for
possible inconveniences.
